The spices used in the dishes were excellent and the nan bread was delicious. There is ample parking available and the ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant.
I recently visited a buffet restaurant that now prices their food by the pound. It's still a great value, especially for individuals looking to enjoy a variety of Indian dishes without overindulging. At $8.99 per pound, it's a fantastic deal for a delicious Indian meal. Personally, I recommend trying the lamb - it's my favorite dish on the menu.
The food at Mt Everest Cafe is fantastic! Even though they are closed on Mondays, I had to order from another restaurant and the lack of comparable quality reminded me how great the food is at Mt Everest Cafe. And to those who criticize the service and buffet, stop being negative about the buffet experience.
Not great at all. I chose this place for my birthday dinner based on their website. Huge mistake. Those full tubs of deliciousness you see on their website? Yeah, none of that is there in real life. Maybe 6 options on the buffet were there, including 4 pieces of very hard, dried out naan, and none of them with much flavor beyond a bit of hot spice. Very little quantities of the options were available so we wondered how long they'd been setting there. All day? Tables are covered in white tablecloths, with a piece of glass on top. There were several large fresh, yellow food stains all around the tablecloth/glass edge. Truly gross. One star for the waitress who finally refilled our water glasses once. Will not go back.
The value of all ethnic buffet restaurants, Mt. Everest Cafe has been creating satisfactory dishes since I moved to foco. The buffet has remained basically unchanged for years, and they make the dishes they make. I love it because they are consistent and a great value. You can find better himalayan food and also better ethnic buffet restaurants, but I like them for being true to what they do. They outlasted COVID and you hardly see more than three tables full at a time, but I'm glad to have this value option. Like many local ethnic restaurants the decor is fun and the lassi is tasty, I would recommend it to anyone seeking new food experiences in Fort Collins. They might just keep you coming back over and over again.
