Calif Deli Works - El Cajon

This is the diamond in the rough of sandwich shops. The food is always delicious (I'd recommend the Californian on a french roll). It is cash only, so be prepared with about 5.50 per sandwich. Additionally, this shop is run by its owners (a kind Asian couple). They become friendlier the more you go there, and they tend to remember people. You should definitely stop by, because you won't regret coming here.

This is a fantastic little gem of a restaurant. It's a small spot that you might easily overlook, but the food is outstanding! The place is run by a lovely older couple who really know how to make a great sandwich. My husband and I visit often, and the owners are always friendly and engage in conversation with us. Occasionally, they even treat us to complimentary water and chips. The prices are reasonable for a generous meal. It's cash only, but it's definitely worth it!
