Chef Soichi Daniel are phenomenal, either one will give you the best time of your life. Soichi sushi is a more traditional less of a modern take to omakase, so you're expecting lighter flavors, not a lot of sauce mainly refreshing. For the highest omakase price point of $135, which is higher than what my friends mentioned in the past; I'm assuming due to inflation etc. We had an incredible time, I always love pouring sake for our sushi chef sitting at the bar to watch our chef Daniel work his magic. We probably had the earlier seating were surprised our sushi chef was still going after almost 20 rounds of shots... very impressive! Definitely sit at the bar, as that's where you get most entertainment. Everyone is so lovely here, plus sushi is delicious. I love being recommended different rare sushi to try because every sushi restaurant offers different varieties. I recommend Soichi definitely recommend getting the Crystal Dragon sake it was almost like drinking water.
Been incredibly lucky to have been able to dine here a handful of times, and each time I am still blown away at how incredible each dish is crafted with such thought and perfection. It's art for your tastebuds. If ever given a chance to get a reservation, I highly recommend. You won't regret.
Come with an open mind, an empty stomach and prepare to be amazed by the food. Went there for a special occasion, vibes were 10/10, chefs happy to talk and drink with you while casually preparing the best sushi possible mostly flown overnight from Japan with the exception of locally caught tuna and salmon from Alaska. If I could afford it, I would eat here every night of the week. From the deep sea perch to the uni ... all the way back to the oysters to start.. just wow. Deserves three Michelin stars but I hope they don't go beyond one so selfishly I can get a reservation at the sushi bar again. Special shout-out to chef Daniel this man is a quiet superstar. As friendly as he is talented. What every resturant should strive to be
Wonderful dinner at Soichi in San Diego last night. Intimate sushi restaurant that took a lot of care in service, quality of food, and preparation. Definitely make sense why it stands as one of the four Michelin-starred restaurants in San Diego.
