Maine Artisan Cafe - Edgewater

Has to be the best cafe I’ve been too not to mention that it’s in the local area! Went in and placed my order of 2 lobster rolls and a clam chowder for my friend and I and it was ready in just about 5 minutes and it was delicious! I seriously recommend this place to everyone who’s in the area and I know I will definitely be going back.

I am not easily impressed, since we are huge foodies and also in the restaurant biz, but I feel the need to shout it to the heavens how amazing this place is!!!! BEST. LOBSTER. ROLL. EVER. Full stop. They do a smear of Mayo in a perfectly sized and toasted brioche split roll and warmed lobster meat with drawn butter. I seriously felt dizzy it was that good. Note the lobster meat is usually served cold but I asked them to warm it for me. 15 seconds in a microwave is enough. I also had their Greek Salad as a side dish and it is absolutely delicious using the freshest and tastiest chopped veggies, baby cucumbers, grape tomatoes and feta. Anyone claims to be able to make a good salad. But it's all in the freshness and tastiness of the ingredients. And the size of the chop is perfect. The quality of their food is TOP NOTCH. And, they are the nicest people. It's sooo important to get the word out Edgewater has a lot of restaurants, but this one is as good as it gets! Place is very small and casual I would love to see them take over the Yacht Club one day!!

I quickly went in for something small and I ordered the clam soup, it was delicious and great customer service!

Really glad that I found this restaurant close to home. Usually I only have lobster rolls about once or twice a year, but I guess I couldn't get enough of the one I had two weeks ago. Even though the name of the restaurant has Maine in it, they don't do the traditional mayo-based lobster roll, they use butter. The roll was nicely toasted and had a fair amount of lobster. For the price (24 dollars), I wish I would have came with a side, like a small side salad or a bag of chips maybe? It didn't feel like much of a dinner on its own so I added my own sides at home. The lobster tasted very fresh... but maybe too fresh. It was a little fishy tasting for my liking. Maybe it needed to be washed in lemon or more butter to drown out the fish taste. Overall, I did enjoy my roll and it satisfied my craving for lobster. I probably would come back again to get my lobster fix when I'm not in New England.

The lobster roll was fresh and the taste was delicious. The place was spotless, definitely will be back again. Want to try the crab roll and lobster bisque.
