Tomo's Cuisine - East Hanover

I am saddened by Tomo's departure. In my opinion, he was the best in New Jersey. Tomo is already being greatly missed.

This restaurant is deserving of the lowest possible rating. The chef is abusive and miserable. We arrived an hour before closing and it seemed like he was already finished for the night. We ordered some simple rolls since it was late. Even before we placed our order, he was yelling about seating us. When our food arrived, he angrily slammed it down and yelled loudly. This made us concerned about the quality of our food. I made the mistake of asking for the shrimp tails to be removed from my tempura rolls, and that set him off. He began screaming, cursing, and slamming doors in the kitchen. We decided to leave at that point. Avoid this place if you're looking for a pleasant dining experience.

The sushi at this restaurant is truly excellent, and is by far the best in the area. Make sure to check the specials for delicious treats like monkfish liver and yellowtail collar.

The restaurant is on the expensive side, but the food is excellent! They offer a wide variety of dishes, including sea urchin, sweet shrimp, and fatty tuna, all of which are very fresh. Keep in mind that reservations are required for this restaurant. The service is top-notch and perfect for a nice dinner out. The average price per person ranges from $50 to $100.

I heard that this restaurant was ranked as the best sushi spot in New Jersey, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Everything we tried was incredibly fresh and tasty. The hand rolls with seaweed wrapping were particularly outstanding.
