Econo Lodge Inn Suites - Durango

I stayed here for two nights before and after riding the Durango and Silverton Railroad, with an overnight stop in Silverton. Unfortunately, we didn't get the refurbished rooms during either stay. Both rooms were quite dingy, dark, and very outdated. The second room (115) seemed to have a faulty thermostat, as the A/C ran all night without actually cooling the room—just making noise instead. Additionally, the TV speaker was blown, making it impossible to watch or listen to anything. The hotel is convenient for the railroad and downtown, and it's relatively low-cost compared to other options in the area. However, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

This motel is quite pleasant and offers a solid, no-frills option for a place to rest. The rooms are spacious and include a mini fridge, and everything operated as expected. However, you can tell the rooms are a bit dated and could benefit from some updates. That said, everything was clean and functional. They provide a simple breakfast to help you get on your way. There’s also a hot tub available, but it was often occupied during my stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even giving us old rags to clean our motorcycles after we encountered some rain. I would recommend this motel and would happily stay here again during my travels.

Safety: I felt very safe during my stay. Walkability: It's conveniently located within walking distance of nearby restaurants and grocery stores. The cheapest gas in Durango is just next door!

The rooms are clean. Our bed was a bit hard, which made a restful night a struggle for us. The gentleman that I checked with was friendly. Overall, a good place to stay for us just passing through. It is just an older inn that has had a few cosmetic updates, but clean is always good ?.Rooms: 4/5
