Locks - Dublin City

Wonderful first time experience here yesterday. A group of us went for Saturday lunch. The ambience of the place was lovely, comfortable and really welcoming with a very nice vibe. The view was amazing looking out onto the canal-you would never imagine that you're in the heart of the city. We were offered a 2 or 3 course menu starting at a ridiculously reasonable price of 23e with also a special starter/mains also on offer. The food was amazing. All our group were bowled over by the taste, flavour not to mention the presentation. The staff were so attentive and helpful. I am gluten free and they couldn't have been more accommodating. They went above and beyond, with some of the group ordering extra sides to share and the staff brought me gluten free versions or let me know what I could have from their sides. It's obvious that everything they source and cook is from the highest standard and cleanly cooked. It was 5star food without the pretentiousness! Wonderful place, I will be returning.

My girlfriend and I celebrated our anniversary in Locks 1 last night, what an an amazing meal and a wonderful dining experience! Each of the snack dishes were perfectly balanced, the dressing on the oyster complimented without overpowering, sweet and just the right amount of tang. So good!! The corned beef beignets had incredible flavour and texture for such innocuous little spheres. The warm crisp bread rolls had a subtle hint of fennel and the smoked trout flavoured butter was perfectly soft and delicious. The starters and mains were beautifully presented and so flavoursome roast squash with tangy goats(? cheese and delicate flakes of nut. A beautiful rabbit terrine and an immaculate piece of duck, with rich beet purée and roasted carrot. The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic about their work. Perhaps even slightly over attentive, but that's the closest thing to a criticism I can muster. Very welcoming atmosphere, relaxed ambiance and elegant yet unpretentious food that really delivered. We were gutted that we couldn't manage desserts but it's a good excuse to come back! The best meal we've had probably ever, and amazing value for money. Get in there, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing food, great atmosphere and the staff are simply the best! Love them all! One of my preferred places in Dublin!

I've been a regular through the years, through each incarnation. I enjoy Locks now more than ever. One of my favourite places to eat.

Really enjoyed my dining experience here! Everything was superb. One of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time! I would highly recommend it!
