Jackleg - Culpeper

The food was delicious. We stopped at this restaurant on our way from DC to southern VA. It's conveniently located right downtown with plenty of street parking. The employees greeted us warmly. Our family loved the sandwiches, and the pizzas looked enticing as well. We will definitely be back next time we pass through.

Discovered this restaurant on Yelp while searching for a place to eat with my group of four. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. I highly recommend trying the Greek nachos. Our group also enjoyed two different pizzas, spaghetti and meatballs, and another pasta dish. Everything was delicious and satisfied our hunger. I can't praise this place enough - definitely check it out! We are planning to return for their weekend brunch.

If you're in a hurry, I would recommend skipping this restaurant as there are plenty of other spectacular restaurants and cafes within a few minutes walk instead. My first impression was that the inside smelled like a mixture of vomit and a foul-smelling cleaner. Despite this, I decided to stay optimistic. The food took a while to come out, which was not a problem, but I noticed that the server was more focused on her phone rather than attending to customers. There was minimal communication about the delay, even though the restaurant was not busy when I arrived. I am giving one star because the price of my meal was very reasonable.

We have been to Jackleg twice. The service is friendly and welcoming. Their food is consistently delicious. If you like caramelized onions their French onion pizza is a must. It's addicting. Last night beef tartare was a special. It was a fantastic interpretation. Bright and balanced. The portion was perfect. The only problem is I will struggle to try other things from the menu because what I have had was so good.

I've been here a few times now and have always been happy. The Margarita flight was good and they have some fun menu items to choose from. The We Didn't Start the Fire pizza is my favorite pizza so far, and the breadsticks were a great appetizer choice. I will be back to try more of the menu options!
