The food was delicious, the portion sizes were generous, and we really enjoyed cooking at our table. However, the service was a bit lacking; we had to flag down staff for drinks and to order additional rice and food, as we weren't checked on throughout our meal. We also had to ask for more rice when we ordered extra meat, which might be the norm, but I'm not sure. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, and I would definitely return. We were a group of six, had two 2-liter beers, and the total bill was just over $200, which I think is a great value considering the prices at many places these days.
The prices here are fantastic, especially considering the quality and portion sizes of the meat! Most BBQ plates are priced under $30. Just a quick note: if you want to order the beef belly, you'll need to order at least two plates. The pork jowl was pleasantly thick and fatty, which was a refreshing change from the thin slices commonly served elsewhere. I also thoroughly enjoyed the beef tongue. Everything complemented their sauces and sides beautifully. However, I did take off one star because the service wasn't very attentive. Despite having a reservation, it took a long time for us to be seated. We had to awkwardly signal for a server to take our order, and they didn't check in on us again until we were ready to pay.
I had lunch at Haan with my sister today, and we were pleasantly surprised by their $20 lunch special. We decided to try the pork galbi, which came with Japchae noodles, kimchi pancakes, and six side dishes, all of which were fantastic. The Japchae was a bit salty for my taste, but there was enough tofu soup for two people to share. We also ordered the veggie wrappers for an extra fee, and they were definitely worth it, served with plenty of fresh lettuce. I’m looking forward to going back to try the Bulgogi special on my next day off, though it's unfortunate that the special menu is only available for lunch during the weekdays.
The restaurant provides a fantastic selection of dishes along with quick service. However, the space is a bit limited, which may result in longer wait times during busy hours, especially in the evenings. Convenient parking is readily available nearby. The prices are quite affordable, and the portion sizes are substantial. I especially enjoyed the kimchi pancakes.
The food here is excellent, but we recently had a very disappointing experience. I called the restaurant to confirm a reservation for 10:15 PM on a Friday night, and the person I spoke to insisted that reservations weren't necessary and that we could just walk in. However, when we arrived at 10:10 PM, we were informed that they couldn't seat us because they had stopped taking orders and were closed. We had made special arrangements for our anniversary to arrive on time, only to be turned away more than an hour before their advertised closing time of 11 PM. Before this incident, I would have highly recommended this place, but now I feel their level of professionalism is lacking. Haan Korean BBQ really needs to be more accurate about their opening and closing times.
