Brancaccio’s is one of those places that will make you feel like a New Yorker. This small, Windsor Terrace staple serves up legendary food (including a meatball sandwich, for which they are known) in addition to some specialty groceries and I believe they also do catering. This generational eatery will not disappoint, as my partner and I regularly walk over to grab sandwiches before making another pit stop at Steeplechase next door for some coffee. This is one of my favorite places in Brooklyn, in fact I’ll be strolling over there later today for one of those sandwiches I mentioned. They sell out, so you should go there now. Although they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Walking nearby I saw San Marzano canned tomatoes in the window and it piqued my interest. Finding that they have a large Italian sandwich menu, I ordered the porchetta, which was really excellent. I will be coming back to explore the menu.
Legit magical, with no pomp or pretense. Joe and his crew have mastered the art of the sandwich, and the prepared food is also incredibly flavorful with a home-cooked feel. This is food thought out and made with love. Everything is consistently delicious, so you really can’t go wrong. I’m fortunate to live close enough for this be my regular lunch spot; the unfortunate part is I’m spoiled for life
Brancaccio's is a neighborhood treasure! Joe Brancaccio is an artisan and takes pride in creating great food. Everything is made by hand with great care and is of the highest quality!
