I had the Gambetto special (4 shrimps with vegetables which was a good portion as I was not hungry. Others got the salmon penne pasta special and fruti di mare spaghetti. The pasta portions were very generous and highly recommended. They are renovating the indoor area, so it is great because you know you are getting a table outside this summer : Service was very good. Bread, olive oil and balsamic (so good I could have that balsamic by itself! were served right away as we sat. 100% recommend for sit-down lunch or after work dinner in Midtown. Note for restaurant: Bring back the lunch prix-fixe special!
If you like pasta and don't mind spending 20 or more than you will like it here. The service and food was good but I don't believe it's worth the price. I've had meals that tasted just as good for half the price at other places. I'm not a wine drinker but I tried some and it was good. The bread was a bit hard but tasted fine. Nice little place to visit.
The food here is pretty good, steep price tag and small portions, but good. You start off with an assorted bread basket and olive oil/ balsamic vinegar. The calamari is definitely unique in that many people are used to the fried version. However, the pistachio flavors nicely complement the crispness of the squid and the dish does work. They only give you four pieces though so if you are with a table of more people, you might have to more food. My favorite part of meal was definitely the Tagliatelle Verdi Paglia E Fieno it is DELICIOUS. It's basically a fancy spin on pasta carbonara except more fresh and authentic. The pasta is made on premises and you can never go wrong with prosciutto and cream sauce. If you were deciding between dishes get the tagliatelle and you won't regret it. I tried Mezze Lune Di Vitello which was ravioli with veal- and it wasn't bad. But the sauce is so overpowering with flavor and the ravioli itself was so salty that both flavors combined were VERY salty. Should it be less salty the dish would be more tasty. My father loves their tiramisu and they have a lot of dessert options even for lunch and it is a popular place for business lunches. Overall, small portions, pricey food, but pretty good if you were willing to pay the price tag.
Party of 3 for dinner. A bit off the beaten path and hard to see if you blink. Warm welcome by hostess. Nice ambiance. Not too noisy. Waitress was a bit short with some audible sighs as we selected meals and wines, albeit slowly Food: Tagliatelle was amazingly delicious. Perfectly cooked. Definitely the star dish of the evening from our selections Lasagna was good. Had a savory spice that took some getting used to. Salad was definitely not a dinner portion or a salad really. It was a small drizzle of lettuce on a plate. Added chicken which was shoved on the side (see pics). Overall, the pasta is probably very safe and delicious. Service from our server in particular hold have been better. Would return.
First, be aware the restaurant name is now Bice. Same owners, same address. We spent 40 min trying to find Bistro Milano. Food is good, not great. Charming service. Ate outdoors in nice weather.
