Real Roots Cafe - Chattanooga

My wife and I enjoy visiting plant-based restaurants whenever we travel, and we have tried many in various cities. Real Roots is by far the best one we have experienced. The food is incredibly flavorful without being too fancy, and the portions are generous. As my wife is a cancer survivor, we try to cook plant-based meals like this at home. Many people underestimate the effort it takes to create plant-based dishes with such delicious flavors, textures, and visual appeal. Although we live south of Atlanta, we are already planning a trip to Chattanooga just to dine at Real Roots again.

The vegan food at this restaurant is incredible! It is one of the top options in Chattanooga for vegan and gluten-free dishes. Every dish we have tried here has been both fresh and delicious. The owners are a lovely family who have poured their hearts and souls into creating this hidden gem of a place!

I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was absolutely fantastic! It had so much flavor, was very fresh, and I loved how well it was wrapped and grilled because it stayed together perfectly. Due to my recent gallbladder removal surgery, I have had to switch to a plant-based diet, and I truly appreciate finding restaurants where I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Ordered the Beach Bum toast, Sweet Berry Smoothie and a drip coffee. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito. Everything was delicious! And prices were reasonable too.

So grateful for whole food based, simple vegan food places so its tough to not give 4/5 stars but the food I had was a miss. The smothered burrito was dry inside, bland, had chunks of the lettuce core, and the tempeh was in large chunks with no flavor. Overall, just felt like the food wasn’t made with love or the dishes weren’t crafted by someone who enjoys cooking. Please be mindful this review is based on one visit so there may be better items on the menu.
