Herman's Express - Chattanooga

Ordered online for my mother who is elderly and shut in and saw a place to pay using a gift card. So I followed the link for the gift card to Toast, who manages Herman's POS system and website ; I purchased a gift card then entered the gift card at the website. The food purchase showed paid and stated to pick it up. When I arrived at the restaurant, the person at the front told me I would have to pay for my order. I explained that I made the purchase online, but they were hearing none of it. How do you allow a company to handle your website and point-of-sale system but not honor its payments. The company toasttab (toast.org) stated that the purchase could only be reversed through the Herman's POS system since the electronic check had already already been deposited in Herman's account. Either way, my money was not refunded, Herman's would not honor the payment and my mother never received her food. Not to mention the delivery driver was frustrated and so am I.
