Our meal was fine, but while my husband's was a large portion, my salad was small for a full-size salad. Pretty building.
Food Works has been a mainstay in downtown Chattanooga for nearly 2 decades. I have loved every meal we've had there, and have been happy to use them for so many events I've lost count my rehearsal dinner, my wedding reception, funerals, birthdays, out of town guests, company Christmas parties, nearly every Porsche event I ran, Oktoberfest for the PCA the list goes on and on.It will be heartbreaking to see it close, and I can almost assure you that it has to do with greedy landlords pricing small businesses out of their spaces. My company entertained the idea of moving into the Knitting Mill building, as well, and after the landlord priced it 35% higher than any other space we looked at AND demanded part of our monthly profit, we went elsewhere.Once again, greed kills a small business, and makes Chattanooga a little less interesting. But, hey, maybe we'll get a mediocre over priced corporate restaurant to go in its place and satisfy all the boring people. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a motorized lift there to assist in access.
Unfortunately, it was our first time there and it was fantastic only to find out that they're closing in today. May 26 is their last day in business. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was terrific, and our waitress (Sutton) was outstanding. I'm just sorry that Chattanooga is losing what we've discovered to be such an excellent restaurant Jamie.
We were visiting Chattanooga and attempted to dine here. It was 5 pm and the restaurant was empty. The hostess was extremely rude and told us it was a 20-30 minute wait, which wasn't a problem, but we were told we that we would only be able to sit outside. They are apparently understaffed. There were several other patrons we spoke with that experienced the same rudeness. We decided to leave and find a more hospitable establishment.
Cute old mill turned restaurant. Nice atmosphere, great service, and delicious food. The portions are large, so bring your appetite. Fried chicken biscuit was perfectly seasoned, tender, and burst with flavor. The side taters that come with it were equally well seasoned with mouth watering flavors. Fried green tomatoes were amazing.
