Steel Street Fish Market - Charlestown

I ordered seafood for Christmas, and while the oysters were fantastic quality, I was disappointed with the thick salmon fillets we requested. Instead, we received very thin pieces that were not comparable to a proper fillet. I went to Charlestown to express my dissatisfaction, but I encountered a rude staff member who was unhelpful. Overall, I was quite unhappy with the experience.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the poor and rude service. While purchasing calamari and shrimp from the cooked food section, I noticed they were out of chips, with only a few leftover at the bottom of the container. I politely asked if the man could put a few chips on my calamari and charge me an extra dollar, as my child was having a tantrum and I needed to resolve the situation quickly without waiting for a fresh batch. To my surprise, he refused. I asked again, but he still declined, and then he asked me if I wanted the chips or not. When I replied that I did, he tossed them back behind the counter and told me to have a nice life! I’ve decided that I will never return to this restaurant again.

Both the fish and the restaurant are impressive! The cleanliness is top-notch, earning a 5-star rating for the food. They offer a variety of dishes, including fish, chips, and salads. It was an enjoyable experience!

I asked the staff member if he could add a few chips on top of the calamari and charge me an extra dollar to keep my child happy, as he was having a tantrum and I needed to get him settled quickly without waiting for a fresh batch. To my surprise, he said no. I tried asking again, thinking he may have misunderstood, but once again I was met with a firm no. When I expressed that I wasn't really interested anymore, he tossed the food back on the counter and sarcastically said, "Have a nice life!" I definitely will, but I won’t be returning to this store.
