Babbingtons Bar & Grill - Charlestown

My daughter selected Babbingtons Bar & Grill for her recent 18th birthday family dinner. From all accounts of friends came highly recommended. It was a Thursday evening, we made a booking 2 weeks prior, nice window view table.Decor ok, service staff ok, bar tender not sure, restaurant manager very good.The truth, when we were all walking back to car I simply asked what everyone thought? The response was all the same..."yeah, it was alright"...didn't give us the experience others had expressed. Bu others I mean frequent locals diners. For the price we want to feel and taste special. Maybe just an average night for Babbingtons and not everything was at its best, either way we will give them another shot soon.

We have dined at Babbingtons on many occasions over the years, and we look forward to returning as the dining experience is always very good. The food is expertly cooked, the menu is great, the service is efficient and friendly, and some tables have wonderful views over Newcastle - the trees have grown and unfortunately a lot of the views have been blocked - but they are beautiful trees!

I have never been disappointed with the meals and service at Babbington's. The staff were gracious and courteous and very helpful with advice on seating and the menu.The food was high quality , beautifully prepared and served. We had Grilled salmon with steamed asparagus, barrel potatoes, Fennell butter and lemon. A perfect meal!!

Order a cocktail half strength when the waitress said they could not do that, everything is not the full shot alcohol. then ordered the pan seared spec and gnocchi, it comes as bacon, with the waiting staff and cooking say it is speculative and with the saying that “that is what the suppler sent” when the chef dosis don’t know the difference between speculative and bacon should they not have the certificates in foods

Had a nice dinner and will return as it was a great night. food: 5/5 service: 5/5 atmosphere: 5/5 .more
