Nara Thai Restaurant - Charlestown

I had a pleasant dining experience at a Thai and curry house. The food was tasty and the service from the staff was excellent, making up for the dated decor. Overall, I had a really enjoyable dinner.

Just like other TripAdvisor reviewers have mentioned, don't expect much in terms of decor at this restaurant. However, you should definitely visit for the delicious Thai and Indian food, as well as the friendly host and great service. Whether you're dining alone or with a group, you will be warmly welcomed.

The food was also a letdown. Our orders were taken around 7pm, but the entrees arrived an hour later in a sporadic manner. The mains came out at 9pm, with our party eating at different times. The chicken satay and oyster beef were overcooked, the Madras Beef Curry was tough, and some dishes were indescribable. We had to ask for rice, and most of us had already finished eating by the time it arrived. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of affordable and excellent Thai and Indian restaurants in the area that are worth trying instead.

I don't think this restaurant has seen a makeover for at least 30 years. Air conditioning didn't work real good so the western sun beaming in made it like a sauna. Food was nice but too expensive for what you got. The barman made good drinks but he wasn't what you'd think would come out of a Hospitality course. DARK and DINGY. Left over food from lunch time was still on a chair.
