Cafe Salt - Charlestown

I had the burger plus a fresh juice. For $18.00 the burger had beef, bacon, egg, fries, caramel onions, a paper salad. Tomato beetroot, cucumber,capsicum, onion, lettuce. We would come back.

We understood that Mother's Day would probably be busy however other families of four came and went, we waited an hour for our food and had to ask for it to be delivered, kids pancakes were cold, our food was mediocre considering the total cost. Won't be back and probably advise others to choose a different place to eat.

Just the most ordinary experience possible. Ten minutes before one of the multiple waitresses made their way over to take our order and another 18 before the coffees finally were produced. They did not appear short staffed at all, as the cafe had four tables going (infusing ours) and there were at least seven staff manning the dead cafe. Wouldn't waste a half an hour waiting for another coffee there if it was free.

This place looked good and there was a few people seated eating lunch. Our server arrived fairly fast to take our order. My partner had the special which was poached chicken and asparagus voluvont and I asked for eggs Benedict with ham, a thick shake and a can of coke. We waited 10 minutes for our drinks and then when our drinks were brought to us they also left the bill!!!We waited another 10 minutes for our food!! Boy we're we sorry when the food arrived. The chicken was just mush with tin asparagus and so much cheese with a sad small serve of chips. There was no dressing of the plate, aka not even a piece of parsley to make it look appealing. My eggs Benedict arrived on 2 pieces of thick toast with fried bacon/ham, not to sure what it was with the yokes hard in my poached eggs with the sauce just plopped on top!! I ate 1 of my eggs and a piece of toast and left the rest. My partner ate his all as he was hungry, but he said he'd never go there and order again. We paid $45 for this meal and I believe I would have got more value from Macdonald!!

I stopped here yesterday and, as usual, was greeted by friendly staff that were very helpful. I use this cafe for meetings and work when I want to get out of my house for a while. The cafe itself doesn't offer WIFI but the shopping centre the cafe is located in does. The food is good quality and the coffee very good as well. I often arrive before 11 in order to take advantage of the morning specials (I'm partial to pikelets).
