Mr Pook's Kitchen - Castle Douglas

Yesterday evening with my partner here dinner and can honestly say that it was one when the nicest meal I ever had in a restaurant. the starter, head and dessert were all presented on the same and so beautiful. we both had the Ox Books Raviolo, which was lamming, and then I ended up with the chocolate and heaven dessert. the service was also great. many thanks for a beautiful meal, this is the highlight of our holiday so far!

It was lovely! Every course tasted amazing! Had starters, mains and dessert, tasted better than I had imagine, will definitely come back when we come back to Galloway

The food here is truly amazing really can't complain about the food the only down side was it seems the kids menu was bit of an after thought as there isn't much choice and don't know many children that would pick soup for a starter, but would recommend to anyone who hasn't been.

Came across Mr Pooks kitchen by chance for lunch whilst visiting castle Douglas. Great open kitchen in a converted old bank building. The daily specials where all locally sourced dishes and really well priced for the quality. You could enjoy smaller lunch time portions like squid, clams or 6oz local steak. They also make a selection of virgin cocktails in addition to their extensive wine and cocktails menu.

We selected Mr Pook’s Kitchen to celebrate our small family wedding. The lunch was superb and included amuse bouche, pre-dessert , beautiful cod, lamb and 30 day aged ribeye, to name but a few.. Mr Pook and the team did us proud with friendly and efficient service and planning. Our guests were extremely impressed and it turned out to be the highlight of the day. They are still raving about it! We highly recommend Mr Pook’s Kitchen and will certainly return.
