Superb food and service from this intimate first floor restaurant. As a coeliac, very impressed by personal attention from the chef virtually everything could be adapted for gluten free. Succulent lamb in a tagline was excellent and the posset probably the best ever! Thoroughly recommended but you MUST book ahead to be certain of a table.

A wonderful meal in this quirky upstairs restaurant. Fresh homemade bread, then starters of haggis in a whisky based sauce and scallops with caviar and chorizo, yum! Our mains were Cullen Skink, a terrific blend of tastes, my husband’s words! and my pork loin with so many interesting flavours in the sauce, the delicious roast potatoes and red cabbage, honestly every mouthful was just a pleasure to savour. Our lovely waitress was friendly and attentive and looked after us very well. Thank you Will, for all your hard work, it was greatly appreciated.

Outstanding meal on our first visit to Kirkcudbright. The food was simply delicious and very good value for money.

Visited this restaurant during our latest holiday to Kirkcudbright. I opted for a rib eye steak which was cooked medium as requested and it was very tender. The star, however, was the pink peppercorn and cranberry sauce which was delicious. Only downside was that my wife is vegetarian and she mentioned this on booking. She was therefore disappointed to be given no choice for either starter or main course.
