1 Ton Pub & Grill - CAPE RAY

This place has a lot going for it. We stopped here for a late lunch - salads, pizza, mussels, and chowder. The service was quick, the food was excellent, and the views outstanding....Oh, and the prices were quite reasonable as well.

We enjoyed our wings and beer in a bustling atmosphere of mostly young locals. It is a great little pub with an excellent location and scenic view. It was true that the food service was somewhat slow, but I have to say the wait staff are not to blame. They work at a quick pace in small quarters. It seems to me that if the kitchen staff could keep up the pace, this spot would be the Number One.

We went here at 8pm on a Friday night before our midnight ferry back to NS. We were seated promptly and got our first beers quickly. The restaurant was half full. Our order for a burger, soup and wings was taken at the same time as another table. 30 minutes later that other table got their food. Another 15 minutes later the table next to us got their food. They complained to the server about waiting 45 minutes for their food and all she said was that it is one kitchen that services the Harbour Restaurant upstairs and 1 Ton. We got our food after 50 minutes of waiting, and our beers were empty for 15 minutes, and we complained and got the same excuse. The table on the other side of us got their food finally but one of the orders of potato skins was burnt and missing the cheese. The waitress recommended sending it back but the girl said she was so hungry she didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for new food. The taste of the food was good, but the speed and excuses will keep me away from this place.

Great location. Food was decent. Service was exceptionally bad and slow. Over 1 hour for wings and nachos. No one checking to see if you need another beer. Severely short staffed.

Nice pun with a wicked view. It's a small to medium size pub and restaurant but has a nice view of the Harbour. You can watch the ferry dock in and out. It's a great place to enjoy a beer and some grub!
