We have come to sammy for over 20 years. the restaurant to choose when they go to city island!

Sammy was as always very good. always a full of foods some could share the escape it is not cheap, a meal for 2 w 1 cocktail each no appetizer and no dessert was $129 including tax w tipp they are over $150. sammys reservations will not take anymore. for parties under 4 persons. where we can really be overcrowded, people waiting to remember red lobster, we would choose another city island restaurant at the weekend. we were already often and will be back. I had garnelen parm and my man has garnel the boiled kamillen and skaloppler both super tasty. I never had a disappointing meal.

We (our family) we’re frequent visitors to Sammy’s years ago We choose to return due to our small family reunion 3 brothers spouses from Vegas, Florida NY getting together to reminisce The place looks the same dated, service was excellent but it wasn’t at all busy I guess being a weekday night But I found the quality of food not as I remembered it to be when we first started to come to Sammy’s and that’s more then 20 years ago I tend to see that trend in long established places and of course prices are much higher If you want to experience a out of the way city place for fish on a charming island then try it as for being a tourist But I guess a return to Sammy’s for me is out of the question

A bit disappointing. Prices are way too high, service is not so great and the overall experience was not worth the price. I use to live going here but for what we paid was not worth it anymore. There’s other places to go for the amount we paid.
