They have good croissants, but I find their selection a bit limited compared to a traditional French patisserie. I visited again recently and was shocked to learn that they no longer serve coffee, even though they call themselves a café. It’s frustrating!
We shared a cheese baguette, and it was absolutely incredible. I’ve had many great sandwiches, but I can’t remember ever having one better than this. How is it possible? It’s just a simple combination of a baguette, French butter, ham, cheese, and pickles. Yet, each component was perfectly executed, and the quality of every ingredient shone through in perfect harmony. Spectacular! Next, we tried the quiche Lorraine, which was the best I’ve ever had. It wasn’t the usual egg-heavy version; instead, it had a melt-in-your-mouth flaky crust with a delicious and hearty filling. Again, it used simple ingredients, but everything was flawlessly prepared in a way I had never experienced before—just wow. Finally, we had the ham and cheese croissant, which was excellent and reminiscent of the ones from Le Croissant right outside Queen Victoria Market. But I must emphasize how amazing that ham and cheese baguette was—you simply have to try it! We didn’t even sample any of their sweet pastries, which are supposedly their specialty! If their savory offerings are this good, I can only imagine how incredible the sweets must be. The only downside was that there wasn’t any hot coffee available, which felt a bit unfortunate as it might have distracted from our dining experience. However, we enjoyed a lovely loose leaf black tea. Overall, I rate French Faves a perfect 10/10. Thank you for bringing such fantastic food to Newcastle!
We ordered this chocolate milk mango cake from French faves and absolutely loved it! I didn't have a tasty cake in newcastle as that!
OMG, I have recently just come across my new favourite drop in Cafe for the freshest Croissants and flavoured pastrys, the Smoothest aromatic coffee by so far this year,
