Brasserie Küchlin - Basel

I went there because of a recommendation for Beefsteak Tartar. It was indeed excellent. They bring the raw meet and aside the sauces you might want to mix with the meet. So you get to do your own flavour and decide how spicy you want it. Service good and timely, fancy dishes for I will get back there to eat them.

We had dinner here our first night in Basel. The staff was very friendly. Menu was interesting (a lots of game dishes) but everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Mussels were excellent.

I go there regularly for lunch. Although the place is often packed during lunchtime (reservation recommended), the friendly manager will always try to find a place for you. The atmosphere is a mix between busy bistro and cosy pub. The service is quick and professional (which is especially important when you need to get back to the office). Their food is brasserie inspired, tasty and moderately priced. The menu is a good selection of classics and changing items. If you don 't find anything on their daily menu, you can 't go wrong with their Steak Café de Paris with excellent fries, their Moules Frites or the Flammkuchen with different toppings. Little bonus: During lunchtime all the menus include a soup or salad and a small dessert.

We asked the waiter what was the speciality of the house and he suggested steak and wow it was great. My fiancé had the baked pasta special and enjoyed it. The complimentary bread was very tasty. Excellent service the entire time.

The restaurant was full but it didn’t matter! Two bar tables were put together, we were served with elegance and smiles and even made it to our film next door. Thank you!
