Location: on point easy street access, nice view of street scene and water. I 've been here for diner and breakfast not sure which was better. Most recent was a late breakfast that hit the mark. I had the hash beni with mushrooms on the side. It 's kinda a spin on eggs Benedict but with hashbrowns as the base. OMG is was good taste and portion size. To my surprise the only protein were the poached eggs; and yet is did not miss the normal meat. The poached eggs were perfect, soft, slowly running and hot. So come for the food, view, and service; you won 't be disappointed
We went there for brunch. So impressed with the coffee we are VERY fussy and this would have to be the best we have ever had. (decaffeinated Macchiato Coconut Latte) The food was excellent, and the staff very organised and pleasant.
Spectacular view with delicious breakfast and tasty hot coffee. What more could you ask for? Parking isn't too bad--you have access to the shopping strip just a short walking distance away (if you feel like walking off the food baby you're guaranteed to get). The restaurant presents itself as both cafe and eatery, with a section suited for the grab-and-go clientele as well as those more interested in a relaxing breakfast. We fell into the latter category. Our coffee came out wonderfully presented and piping hot. The breakfast came soon after. Smashed avacado on toast and a fantastically heavy dish with potatoes, eggs, market fish, lightly sprinkled with greens. Add a fruit smoothie to top it off with a bit of sweetness, and you're set for a great day.
I've been for brunch and for dinner and would definitely recommend lunch. I found the brunch menu better and watching the water in daylight is unmatched
I've tried to come to this joint in the past and I think i've nailed the timing this time. As long as you come at odd hours of the day when there's not so many people, St Heliers Cafe and Bistro can be really nice experience. I came here not really knowing what I felt like on a Sunday avo at 3pm. As expected the brunch/lunch menu had finished and we had to go with the evening menu. Luckily it's quite a casual range and we opted to share a Pizzetta (flat bread) with Burrata, Walnuts, cress and EVO, and a roast beetroot salad, both were outstanding and so fresh. Entree size so nice for us to share as a late lunch with complimentary sparkling water which I love. The interior is really open and light and the finishings and furniture are cool and beachy. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone!
