Fat Boys Tavern Bistro - Auckland

The lamb skewers feature larger, meatier pieces of lamb compared to other Chinese skewer joints. We ordered 60 skewers for a group of six, and it was more than enough. The cucumber in soy sauce also came in bigger pieces and was delicious. We tried the chili chicken with potatoes (served with homemade noodles) in a large portion, and it was enormous. Thankfully, they provide takeaway containers, so we took half of it home. We also ordered some potato skewers, chicken heart skewers, squid skewers, and a cold chicken dish—possibly poached—topped with a spicy sauce and peanuts. The sauce is incredibly spicy and addictive. The service here is quite good. The ambiance has the feel of an old-fashioned, slightly shabby bar, which adds to its unique charm. They even play Looney Tunes cartoons on a screen, which is an interesting touch!

We love this place.The place itself is grotty af and they need massive improvement on their cleanliness and customer service. In saying that, we go here all the time (at least once a month) and we've never had a bad experience (but that's probably because the staff knows us already). We only order their skewers or from time to time we order their fried chicken or taiwanese chicken.Flavour of the skewers are great and in our experience, its always been perfectly cooked.This place is so affordable, we only pay $20-25 between 2 people.

I have been here many times, primarily for the BBQ and fried noodles. The BBQ is fantastic and delicious, definitely a must-try. If you're a fan of noodles, you should definitely try the homemade flat noodles with beef in chili oil—it's absolutely delicious!

I love this place so much. Every time I come here the food is the same and it’s always amazing. Cheap prices and big portion sizes. Usually quite fast to bring the food out
