For the main course, there were the usual grilled vegetables, with an option to upgrade from steamed rice to fried rice for an additional $5. We chose salmon, yum yum prawns, crayfish tail, and sirloin for the teppanyaki, and it was a fantastic dining experience overall. We had a table of seven, but keep in mind that if your party is smaller, you'll likely be seated with others. The chef could have been a bit more enthusiastic, but it didn’t affect the experience too much. The food was delicious, and the yum yum sauce was absolutely irresistible. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as the place can get quite busy. For dessert, we were served matcha baked cheesecake, which exceeded our expectations. Overall, it was an excellent value for the money!
What I liked: 1. The service was friendly and accommodating. 2. The seating and lighting around the teppanyaki cooking station were excellent. 3. The chefs were personable, taking the time to chat briefly with diners. There was also an enjoyable dinner theater atmosphere as they prepared our meals. For instance, while cooking the vegetables, one chef playfully moved the onion rings around and imitated the sound of a train approaching the station. Additionally, when certain meats or prawns were ready, the chef would challenge diners to catch pieces thrown into their open mouths. It’s not for those who struggle with catching food, but most of the time, it lands where it should! 4. The teppanyaki dishes are reasonably priced, offering great value for money and are well-prepared. 5. It’s a fun and interactive experience, especially if you have energetic kids at the table or want to add some excitement to your meal. Overall, I highly recommend the Daikoku Quay branch for a delightful dining experience!
I had lunch with my wife at this restaurant, marking my first experience with teppanyaki grilling in Auckland. I chose the lunch menu priced at $19.90, which offered a selection of proteins including fish, chicken, and beef. The meal included miso soup, salad, rice, and dessert. While the food quality was decent, I appreciated the atmosphere and the service. I found the grilling experience quite entertaining. Although I probably won’t return in the near future due to the prices, I will definitely consider coming back when I’m ready for another sizzling lunch.
Got two bowls of ramen and two sides for around $30, some of the best gyoza ive ever had, super affordable and delicious, definitely take advantage of the combos!
Me and my girlfriend have come here a few times and I always have good things to say for them! The staff are so friendly and food is usually fast and prompt to cook. This place is perfect for anyone who loves Japanese!
