Mariscos seafood is served not only in the harbour, but in the ixtapa palace, the castle in white tinted lime, opposite the road of emilio’s. this is the best seafood with the least pretensions in ixtapa. it is usually visited by people who live there. there is. a fish tank as they enter. the interior kitchen is brightly illuminated, so if you want to choose romance you choose the outside area through the torches. the red snapper vera cruz was wonderful. my man said the seafood plate was the best he ever had, it had lobster, garnel, crabs, longistino with speck, red snapper and oktopus with rice and vegetables for 220 pesos, a steal.
Just a bit from the bustle of the tourist district of the city, the restaurant is still a simple walk over the harbour bridge (except perhaps the last 200' uphill.) the owner starts either in the morning or buys the fresh seafood he serves in the evening. very reasonable prices and an amusing mix of local and expats were present for dinner. the service was very good and the food was excellent. in any case on our return to the list.
Marisco's seafood is not only served at the marina harbor, but at the Ixtapa Palace, the castle in limed white, across the street from Emilio's. This the best seafood with the least pretensions in Ixtapa. It is mostly frequented by people living there. There is a fish tank as you enter. The indoor dining is brightly lighted so if you want romance choose the outdoor area by the flares. The Red Snapper Vera Cruz was wonderful. My husband said the seafood platter was the best he had ever had, it had lobster, shrimp, crab, langistino with bacon, red snapper and octopus with rice and vegetables for 220 pesos, a steal.
Just a bit out of the bustle of the down town tourist area, the restaurant is still an easy walk across the harbor footbridge, (except maybe the last 200' up-hill). The owner either does a morning catch himself, or purchases the fresh seafood he serves in the evening. Very reasonable prices, and an amusing mix of locals and ex-pats were in attendance for the evening meal. The service was very good and the food was excellent. Definitely on our return to list.
