Przekaż informację zwrotnąThere are so many new restaurants now in the Zetland, Alexandria area. My family and I have our favorites and Degani is now one of them. Our meals were great, large servings and delicious. I nearly didn't order the ribs, we frequent a ribs focused restaurant across the road from Degani which we love. I was a butcher and possibly why I am very fussy regarding meat quality and presentation. I was so excited when the ribs were presented by the owner of Degani. A lovely and very proud restaurateur. The ribs were wonderful, the owner and waitress tried so hard to please and they certainly made the dining experience memorable. I look forward to returning to Degani, it's been 3 weeks since our visit and doing this review this morning I am wondering if they are open for breakfast. Can you eat ribs for breakfast? Regarding a previous reviewer being disgusted over paying a surcharge for using Amex, someone has to pay for your Amex reward points. You must be a new card holder, everyone knows that Amex has the highest card fees and from my experience with my Amex card I expect to pay a surcharge every time. Why do you think most places don't accept Amex!
The staff are lovely, and the menu has a wide range of meals, from tapas to full/half rack of ribs, burgers, steaks, salads, paella, fish... some really creative and delicious meals, too. The cocktails are amazing (average price ~$15).Not cheapest feed, but I think the prices are justified for the dinner/evening menu.
Booked a table on Sat 16th June as I wanted to try a proper Paella .Service from the moment we walked in was attentive and courteous.Had our entrée of Nachos to share which was good with those who love gooey cheese would welcome. Our mains of paella and a deluxe burger were tasty, flavoursome and enjoyable.Asked the manager re dessert and couldn't decide Went with the chocolate mousse dome and was astonished to be given a complimentary Nespressoi panna cotta which is their house specialty. And boy was it special. My wife who is not a fan of panna cotta's left me a couple of spoons full and it was a great dessert.SummaryGood Food at a very reasonable priceFantastic Service with attention to detailWe will be back with friends in the short term
Food was average - has the Zetland brunch. Eggs over cooked, rosti soggy, and haloumi very bland. But the real kicker came when I paid! Despite stickers on the window saying you accept Amex, you had the cheek to charge a 4% surcharge with no mention of this anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu. Won’t be back and have reported to Amex
...could I have imagined what my partner and I were served when we dined on our Wednesday night experience.Though the restaurant was relatively new in Zetland, we went in expecting a few teething problems; not the horrible meal we endured. We ordered the meat board for two- roast chicken, bacon, chorizo and shoulder of lamb with a side of fries and lavosh salad. The first teething problem: we were informed that the lamb would not be appearing on the shared board as "the butcher's delivery truck had caught fire, so there was no lamb today". Degani is situated in the mall in Zetland, as is Coles, who I'm sure had no "problems" with their meat deliveries... So the kitchen could have gone and bought lamb from there, right? The second teething problem came as our food hit the table: the chicken, I'm not entirely sure when it was cooked; poorly stored for how many days, uncovered in their coolroom; but I can pin point the moment in its life when it was unceremoniously microwaved, slapped on a board and placed in front of my partner and I: exactly 8 minutes after our order hit the kitchen. The chicken (we got two helpings, there was no lamb to speak of), was stringy, lukewarm, and lacked any residue of flavour.Third teething problem: the chorizos and bacon accompanying the chicken on the meat board were dry and blackened, as if left on the chargrill too long, as if forgotten as the cook was too busy pressing buttons on the microwave for to reheat the chicken - "is that six minutes at 75% or seven minutes at 65%?" Either way, dinner at Degani's was memorable for all the wrong reasons.Would I be back? Please, not in this lifetime.
