We ordered the raclette which was delicious, nicely caramelized and served with all of the traditional pairings. For a main course we had the beef fondue, which was beautifully presented and paired with incredible sauces (I won't spoil what they were). But by far the best part of this restaurant was the delightful staff! Our server was a wonderfully kind woman who was very attentive and had excellent recommendations. If you are in the mood for cheese or just a great dining experience, don't pass this up!
Great cheese fondue! I recommend getting their fondue platter, which has a bunch of different foods for you to dip into the cheese. We especially liked dipping the pear and pickled onion into the cheese, as the sweetness/tanginess cut through the flavour of the cheese really well. The standard potato and bread dipped in cheese were tasty as well.
We were four to eat a cheese food, which has tasted very well all.The service was friendly and fast and the table where we were placed was ideal for a family with children. The price - performance - ratio is very good.
I was for dinner with the family, after having booked the same morning, the club proposes two rounds, the first at 18.30, the second at 20.30. the advice is to book. My wife and I got the cheese fondue, great. for the 5 year old child a salad with chicken, good dish and abundant also this. the desserts we did not try them being already full and having found nothing special in the menu. account of approximately 77 francs for the 3 dishes plus a small beer with a good price quality ratio. definitely recommended!
Of Zermatt's numerous fondue joints the Whymper-Stube on the lower level of the legendary Hotel Monte Rosa might be the best. Perhaps for the historic connection—Englishman Edward Whymper allegedly plotted the first ascent of the Matterhorn here in 1865—or perhaps it's simply because the restaurant serves some of the town's tastiest fondues and raclette (a local mountain cheese that's melted and scraped onto a mound of new potatoes and pearl onions.) There are several different types of gooey cheese fondue, including the option to have all three types at once for those who can't decide. There are also tasty meat fondues. The snug dining room is appropriately rustic, with its stone floor, candles, and age-darkened wood-paneled walls.
