J D Family Diner - Yreka

Very busy the day we came in service wasn't very good. We had to ask for our menus and ask to take our orders. But the food was delicious!!! I had the sandwich breakfast and my fiance had the chicken fried steak

They are a friendly bunch. They do not accept substitutions. They have different menus throughout the day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.They do offer gluten free bread for an extra dollar, I'd recommend it only for toasted/warmed sandwiches as it is very thick and generally unpleasant when cold.Always check the whiteboard by the counter as you enter, as that is where they write what they are out of for the day.

We visited JD's on their last day of business. They will be closed for a month and then reopen with new owners. The new name will be Miner's Diner, I think. So sad to see JD's go but hope the new establishment can do as well.

Great place for breakfast! The service was excellent and attentive. The food was better than your typical diner. Wish we weren't just visiting the town.
