New Zealand Ice Creamery - Yeppoon

Lovely ice cream and for us the kids option (smaller and cheaper) was great. Lots of yummy flavours and toppings to choose from too.

I first spotted this ice creamery while having a cappuccino at the Coffee Club next door. Anyone who enjoys ice cream must have a soft spot for New Zealand Ice Cream, simply the best. One of the delights was a coconut ice cream when combined with chocolate was a match made in heaven.

Right across the road from the water playground and in the middle of the beachfront area is this great place to get the most wonderful Ice cream. All the favourite flavours and a few more, all you could want on a hot day at the beach, or a cool one for that matter !!

I ordered the banana split. The lady who was serving me was walking around with some bananas in the container waiting for ice cream to be scooped up while she was helping another lady with the order after me. She was back n forth looking at a list on the wall with the other server. Finally got to me. When she scooped the last scoop which was mango sorbet you could see it was already melting. I still had to wait for her to punch numbers so I could pay. There weren't enough seats out of the wind to eat my sundae. A couple who had takeaway shakes had taken up the last table at the back. If not eating shouldn't be sitting. Asked if I could have another table near them. I was given a whole lot of excuses including evading into the space of a shop next door that wasn't even open. Meanwhile I am still holding my already melted sundae looking for a table away from the wind. I was brought up to give my table up or seat up if someone else appeared to need it more than I did anyway. That couple just look at me and ignored me. That aside, the ice cream shouldn't melt that quickly comparing to the ice cream place in Rockhampton. It was hard till the last mouthful and we were sitting out in the heat as well. Will not patronise this restaurant ever again. This was the second chance already. Over priced for service and product. Don't get me wrong. I am more than happy to pay for good food and service but this place didn't have either of that. All in all awful experience and it comes to having experienced staff who have people skills.
