The Morrison Hotel - Fiasco Steakhouse

Service was not as great as expected. Sauce wasn't served along with our food after waiting for 45 mins. Food was not too bad but not worth the price. One of our steaks was a bit burnt on the sides.

Love the old fashioned decor, good food and relaxed service. Great spot for a steak and a catch up when in Brisbane. Superb steaks. Always keen for a meal and a beer here, and a nice selection of single malts for after.

I've been to Fiasco Steakhouse at The Morrison Hotel dozens of times over the past few years and have never been overly impressed with their steaks - good, but not great.  I used to eat here every 4-6 weeks, but it has been about eight months since I last dined here. Today felt like a whole new dining experience.  I ordered the 300g Wagyu Rump, prepared medium, and it was wonderful.  The meat was tender and delicious and with one small exception the fat was beautifully rendered.   I should note that the dining room was mostly empty, so the chefs likely had a lot more time to devote to each steak, but whatever the reason, it was great.  The steak was served with chips, salad, sauce and garlic bread for $39 and was very filling.  This rated a 4.   My friend ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad with Anchovies and was quite pleased.  I don't think I've ever seen so many anchovies on a salad before. Overall, this was the most enjoyable experience I've ever had at Fiasco Steakhouse.  ***** August 2016 - Rated 3.5 Good steak, but not great. I work nearby and eat here every 4-6 weeks. I've sampled most of the steaks, some of which are quite nice, but none of which compares with the quality and presentation you get at Stokehouse or Cha Cha Char. Then again, the Morrison isn't as expensive either. My main complaint here is that the steaks usually taste too much like 'char' and not enough like the beef, many of which are clearly very nice cuts of meat. The anchovy in the Caesar salad dressing is overpowering. Great selection of Whiskey (Scotch, Japanese, American, etc.). Highly recommend the Hibiki.

The attitude of the waiter tonight was appalling. He first missed our order (two meals) for my elderly parents. After I reminded him, he said, they are two minutes away. Then, he took probably another 10 minutes to return to me to ask me what meals were missing.  It was extremely clear that he missed the order without acknowledging that. After that, we waited for another 20 minutes (by this time everyone else nearly finished the meals). He then delivered the meals without any intention to apologise.  I confronted him by asking him he missed the order The waiter: "tonight, it was really hard to take orders in such a noisy environment, so I missed the order (he was implying it was out fault, we were all in the function room.)" Me: "my dad has been extremely upset". The waiter: "I will get you the manager" Me: "you could have just apologised" The waiter: "I do apologise, it was just too hard to get the orders"... How unprofessional?? How convenient is it for him to blame it on the customers because they are too noisy?? I CANNOT recall last time being so upset in a restaurant. I guess we just paid for $137 for very very unprofessional service tonight!
