Pleasant to meet the owners Tony Katy and to learn their personal connections to the Northwoods, one could make the case that the historic Milwaukee Road Depot, the houses Anthony's Restaurante is the perfect fusion between Star Lake and Tomahawk, WI their respective home cities. Loved the historical, charming and kitchy atmosphere of the log railway depot. We've driven a hundred times and never taken the time to stop, honestly one of my bigger mistakes, like the hospitality in Anthony's restaurant was real and hometown, and the food was excellent. Our ducks were delicious; they had the seafood alfredo and I had the Jamison Filet. Both served with icy crisp home salads and cranberry butter for the slices of French bread. This was our first visit and will certainly not be our last, we enjoyed our visit and our meals very much. Thanks, Katy and Tony, we feel so welcome.
Would you like to give an amazing shrine from the owner's this cozy and charming establishment. Earlier this week I asked for vegan options (new vegan here) and they were happy to accommodate and offered several tasty sound options. I have booked a party of six and let the cook surprise me with the vegan option. When we showed up last night, it smells amazing at the place. It was so sweet and eclectic inside! We sat in the back. My German hubs were overjoyed that Wienerschnitzel was the special one with spetzel and mushroom engraving. No question he was for it! They made vegan bruschetta and it was so delicious! The rest of the party tried the fried mozzarella and lost their thoughts with joy! Another really nice note was the fresh bread and accompanying spreads: an orange cranberry butter, a jalapeño raspberry spread and olive grove. Everybody was so good! My dish ended as a beautiful thin cut eggplant, slightly baked and panty over the heart of Palm Pasta and its amazing marinara. My husband, who was very picky over the Weinershnitzel. What a treat for him! The owner is a MASTER of the pan. Another AWESOME thing is that they use Luxardo cherries in their Shirley temples and Old Fashioneds. You can really say they work so hard and take care of quality ingredients! Thank you for a delicious and special birthday meal! We will return.
The best restaurant in the area hands down! Make sure to make a reservation it is a small but fabulous establishment.
Right on the main train in Minocqua, this restaurant was a wonderful change in the pace of the typical bar and barbecue atmosphere in the Northwoods. The dining room is cozy and the owners are very friendly! The service was great, especially since one of the owners was the only waitress. Food was excellent, and portion sizes were very generous. The menu had a nice piece of variety on offer, and it was obvious that they were proud of the food they make. Very recommended, please reserve in advance if you can!
The best Italian in the Northwoods hands. The nursing and husband and wife team behind Anthonys exudes both in food and service. Can't wait to eat again!
