It has the usual vegan items in stock and the deli area had a separate vegan area where they had salads and other items. I got the garlic rosemary Gardein cutlet and a hazelnut crusted seitan cutlet. Yum! Since it was a Wednesday, their regular salad bar/hot bar area was $5.99/lb, so rather than get salad from the vegan deli area (vegan chicken salad, curry chicken salad, etc), I went for the bar. I got a spectacular jasmine rice and barley salad. Overall, it was a nice experience, but my problem with all Whole Foods is all the meat, dairy and eggs they sell. I dream of a vegan Whole Foods.
This is one of the better whole foods I was. They have a good vegan selection in the salad and hot bar and dress up themselves.... they wear them. Coolhouse vegan ice sandwiches . I have seen the non-vegans at other Whole Foods, but never the vegans.
The packaged foods vegan section of this store, right at the production section smells like bad fish. I often go to another store to avoid the smell. It is really a tragedy for the high-quality vegan snack foods that are in stock around this area. I will not pay the elite price for packaged raw vegan foods that smell like bad fish. I wasn't always vegetarian and if I wasn't, I would never have eaten by a fish counter that smells like that. I don't know any other Whole Foods that share this topic. I only share this because I think it would be important for HappyCow people. It's important to me. Hopefully it helps. The Porter Ranch, Thousand Oaks and Tarzana shops are a higher experience. Cupertino's Whole Foods in North CA is a really nice business so improvement is possible! Updated by previous rating on Monday, 31. March 2014
I was here several times in the past and what to say, except that it is very similar to all the other dozens of Whole Foods Markets that I bought. You can expect all usual: good food, quality brands, premium prices. The stuff is not cheap, but it's good. Better than conventional markets anyway.
