Travellers Friend - Woodford

We went for a Sunday roast and the experience was just great. my own and my partner both went for the black bell option. the portion size was good and the accompanied veg was very nice. the only disappointment that was so hard was impossible to eat. I went for brownie with celestial sorbet, the honest is the best dessert I have eaten everywhere. I am not a big fan of the pub itself, but in any case to eat again.

Friendly and efficient service. Clean bar restaurant and facilities. Large well maintained and decorated outside garden area. The food vegetarian roast was very good and the vegetables very fresh as was my friends chicken roast. The only thing that was not so good was how many things werent available on the menu. We will definitely be going back.

Great place, lovely food ... enjoyed watching the open kitchen. Pub feel at the front and gastro pub feel at the back, good atmosphere, we will be back.

Good local pub. Friendly and well kept. Would like to see some darker beers and malt whiskies behind the bar though

We eat here quite a lot. There 's been an change of management recently but the food is still excellent. We dined on a Saturday and its was unusually quiet (indeed almost empty by 9.30pm). Someone has taken down all the decent artwork too. The bar is still very much a locals hangout which might be keeping the more casual punters away. You have to run a gauntlet of local and regulars to get to the restaurant who size you up as you walk through the door; some people will find that intimidating. As I say, the food is first rate and the service is good (if a little forgetful).
