Having been to Tasmania's Bridestowe, I found this quaint lavener farm nothing to compare. My travelling companion however, has not been to the former mentioned, and found the cafe sittting amongst fields of lavender rather loverly. Flowers were blooming and the scent heavy in the air. There is a small gift shop with lavender products, and a small cafe for refreshemnts. We had lavender and peppermint tea and muffins which were good. Definitely worth a visit, particularly in season if you have never encountered lavender fields before.
A bit disappointed as the lavender was not in flower, but had some nice products in the store. A bit of a drive, but would be worth it when the flowers are on.
We decided to go to the lavender farm with great expectations and were very disappointed. It was basically a gift shop with a building surrounded by different types of lavender. We tried the lavender ice cream which was nice but not worth going back for more
We called in here soon after our arrival on the Island and tried the lavender scones. Had a look around the gift shop and one of us bought some body lotion - very strong smelling.I'm sure it's a perfectly good business but there wasn't enough there to hold my interest.
