Cafe Bella & Lounge - Winnipeg

We stayed at the Best Western and did not want to go out for dinner. We picked Bella on the ground floor. Place was not busy, even if there were some customers in the lounge. Service was friendly. I had the tomato soup, a very pleasant surprise followed by a Reuben with heaps of pastrami on rye. My wife had the smoked salmon on a bed of lettuce with capers and red onions, a toasted bagel and cream cheese. Both were big portions. A beer to help the food go down and life was good. Recommended. We also had breakfast there the next morning and again, service was friendly and food better than your average BW breakfast.

Not your typical hotel breakfast or beverage room. Spent a few nights at this hotel for business. It is located dead centre in Winnipeg, so there's lots to do. I did get a change to have 3 breakfasts (all really good! and some evening beverages in the café and bar area. Very nice place. Appearance wise it's very comfortable. Food was very good every time, however different every time. I guess that's what you get with non-chain restaurants! My only negative comment was the size of the poutine for $8 and Nachos with chicken for $16, a tad too expensive! Otherwise, I was quite happy with the food, value (except for the 2 items and the service was really good! Bartenders were fun!
