Each having fun together and they were eating Welsh, which we knew was advertised locally in several brasseries. So we tried after a good starter of charcuterie and goats cheese. But the Welsh, their take on a Welsh rarebit, was in view unspeakable. A glutinous sea of cheddar cheese diluted by beer is too much even before the egg on top. One exception to the rule of following the patron's recommendation. Service was great however and friendly folk. But our recommendation would be to try anything else on the menu.
Thank you TripAdvisor for the advice , what a great little place in a tranquil spot not far from Boulogne and the sea, friendly, great greeting, we entered as 2 and ask for food , the barman or owner laughed and said 3 people only, non " ce Bon " he laughed again and showed us to a table of our choice, food was superb, for me the mussels could have done with out the bay leaves , probably my taste, wine was good , desert was overwhelming, 5 Star Check out the toilet, will be back
My wife and I have just returned from staying for a week in Wimille, just a few doors down from the house that we rented was "Le Denacre" which was fantastic. It's a small village bar/restaurant that is very friendly indeed, we had a drink in their most evenings, and there was no problem at all for us to take our dog in.The beer they serve is very nice, I think it's their own beer. The barman, Pascal (sorry if I have spelled it wrong) was great, really friendly. His English wasn't the best, but we understood each other. The food in this place is incredible, if you visit then you must try the Moules Frites - for just 8 Euros, there as an incredible amount of Mussels, and they were so tasty. The Frites (or Chips for us English) were great as well, and properly made (none of those horrible cheap oven chip things)I also discovered Ricard as a drink whilst here one evening - I've been missing out all my life!!We'll certainly be back next year when we visit Normandy again!!!
3 couples on cycle ride stopped for lunch. Great choice.Everything was cooked freshly and although we had to wait quite a while it was worth it. Mussels were good as was the Andouillette. It was good value and would go again if in the area.Interesting men's urinal -check it out
Wife & I were staying overnight at the Chateau de la Marine on 18th Aug, couldn't find it so we stopped at the local bar/ brasserie Le Denacre and asked for directions - the barman helped us hot, sweaty, weary travellers & let us use the loo without having a meal or a drink (too tired!). So next day we went there for lunch & to give him a proper thank you . . turned out the chef was also the owner & we had the best best mussels I've EVER had (and I've had a few!) - small mussels, which make a huge difference, and the broth full of very chunky veg, onions & herbs - seriously, don't miss it if you're in the area! I didn't get their names but they're great guys & a great little bar. Merci beaucoup mes amis! You won't remember me but you'll remember the car!Fred Jones Cambridge UK (Mean Green '58 Chevy Impala)
