We had fantastic trip on the StKilda to Williamstown ferry, but having a meal at Cirino nearly ruined our day. Service was slow - around 45 minutes for getting the pizza after reminding of our order a couple of times. And when it eventually arrived, it was the most disgusting pizza we've ever tasted - raw, soaked in ham juices, uneatable. Arrachini balls haven't been much better - just a dry saw dust. To top it all, the bill exceeded $50 menu price by over $4 - beware of Mastercard surcharge and may be weekend premium? Better still, go to other places. Ice creamery next door is superb!
Didn't enjoy this at all, both coffee and hot chocolate were very strong, sent them back, eggs/salmon were just put on a toasted muffin with nothing else, pancakes were slapped, not stacked, on the plate with maple syrup and very little runny cream poured all over it, would have preferred this on the side, price $40.00 won't be going back.
We thought to try this place when the restaurant we originally intended was unavailable. Turned out to be a better experience than the original plan would have been. We came in fairly late - about 9 pm - and the waitstaff was a bit inattentive. The food wasn't affected though. A simple garlic and rosemary focaccia came crisp and hot, straight from the oven. The spaghetti di mare was a very generous serve, with plenty of seafood for each bite of lovely homemade pasta. The wine, oil, garlic sauce was well balanced and flavourful. My partner had a similar reaction to the duck ravioli. This being a Saturday night we also enjoyed a very talented Spanish guitarist playing classic Italian, and Spanish songs.Dessert was supposed to be the luscious looking tiramisu, but they ran out. A nice lemon tart had to suffice. All in all we won't mind going back, and not just for the tiramisu....
On arriving in Williamstown we went into an amazing cafe were we had some very tasty lasagne and pasta. The cafe first looked a little tired but it was absolutely outstanding and very reasonably priced. We were so pleased we decided on that cafe.
