I've now been to two other restaurants plus tried the Dillon's version, and I can definitely say that Hana still stacks up well. It's easily my second favorite, and it's possible that Kanai holds an advantage partially because Kanai is much closer to my house. We had the crunch calamari rolls, the pyramid rolls, philadelphia rolls, and the kraken rolls. The pyramid rolls were easily my favorite, and the philadelphia were a bit bland (fresh tasting and all, just less interesting than the others), and the other two were yummy.
This restaurant has been around for quite sometime and it has better competition now then it did in years past. First off, let me say that we 're in the MIDWEST PEOPLE and some of us are just naive and do not think very clearly about where the 'fresh ' fish is coming from. Its not going to be like those early morning fish markets in japan okay? So if you want the freshest fish in Wichita, its hard to come by...seriously. Secondly, if the restaurant is busy, you cannot expect sushi, out off all things come out extremely quick. Watch how the sushi men make it sure it looks easy, but unless you know what you 're doing...leave it someone who does. I dare say, try being in their shoes for one day or just quit your belly aching and don 't eat out. Now, I feel that this place has potential to be better, since it hasn 't been as busy as it once was. The staff is great, not always perfect but who is? The food is good, but it needs new items and not the same old ones from years past. Sushi is pretty good, but it needs more variety and maybe some catchy names? There is this roll called the crispy spicy tuna and its good, but the name is just so tiring to say. With that being said staff is nice, food is decent like I said before it needs that extra boost kick, and the atmosphere is nicer they have an okay bar. Service really depend on the given day, I recommend asking for the waiting time for sushi or meals, for those people who are always in a hurry for things, ya 'll need to slow down. Good day :
I like the new remodel...the booths are more intimate...got the bento box for lunch and it was plenty of food for a fair price and the young man who was our waiter was real sweet and efficient
Great selection of cold sakes! Very cool decor and tasty cocktail list.
