Abuelo's Mexican - Wichita East

Saturday before Mother 's Day and Abuelo 's was packed. Our server, Brandon, took really good care of our 5 person party. The food was great. Super customer service. Dietary restrictions: Two of our party required gluten free options and the menu had a call-out section with selected GF items.

I ordered a fajita and enchilada family meals. I ordered this for mother's day. I ordered the meals for a 1 o'clock pickup time. I arrived early. The food was already sitting in the pickup area. Obviously for several minutes. After a short 5 minute drive to moms house. The food was dead cold. It all to be reheated. The guacamole was beginning to turn brown. I could not have been any more disappointed than I was at the moment my mom asked. Why was it like this ?After spending $175 which included a small tip for the restaurant. (I spent $325 there last year for here birthday which are at the restaurant) I just felt unmeasurable anger. I felt completely taken advantage of.I think restaurants feel they can get away with it because most people will not return to complain. I have had issues with take out here before.WELL MOM I AM SORRY! I KNOW AUBELOS IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT.BUT IT IS TIME TO FIND A NEW FAVORITE.I will not return.

This restaurant is amazing! The food was on point! The service top notch. Will definitely visit again soon!!

Service was great. Food did not meet my expectations based on past experiences.

Atmosphere was okay. The hostesses were not very friendly to us, but people that must have been regulars were greeted promptly and got seated almost immediately (we waited about 15 minutes with no one giving us a time frame but we had checked in with our whole group there, same size group came in after us and waited about 5 minutes when a waiter that knows them came out to see them and they had a table a minute or so later).Our waitress was nice and great about bringing drinks.Note we are from Colorado having recently moved here, so our tastes and what we are used to may be different. Food overall was meh. The chips and salsas were good, each of us liked a different salsa. Interesting to have 3 different salsas. The portions were decent sized.There were six of us, so it was a large group to service. Food all came out hot. A little more expensive than other restaurants we’ve been to as well. Kid-friendliness: Okay choices for kids dishes and seemed to treat my kiddos as anyone else.
