Lucky Yu Chinese Restaurant

I had been to this place over 10 years ago and it was terrible. After some ahmmmming I decided to try again and I wasn't disappointed.The food was really nice and the prices very reasonable.I'm glad I gave it another chance. It will be a regular takeaway favourite.

This restaurant is a hidden gem located away from Box Hill. The menu offers many great dishes, making it hard to choose just one to recommend. The staff are very friendly and a bonus is that you can BYO alcohol with a bottle shop nearby.

Lucky Yu is one of those places where you feel comfortable sitting there and eating good quality Chinese food. The decor is not flash but the food is good. The owner has been here for over 10 years and we have seen his family grown up helping out in the restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the quality is always consistent. Its BYO and it is quite easy to pop down to the nearby bottle shop if you forget.

Used to eat here regularly but with so many options in the general area, I've not been back for some time. I called in for lunch today and if the very tasty won tons and hot and sour soup I enjoyed are an indication of the present standard, I'll be returning soon. Both were excellent!
