We went with family for Saturday lunch. food was very very small serves for seniors The seniors fish was appalling, so small and overcooked, The service was occasional and the staff were not very well informed on s number of things..Will not go back

In the last 18months I have been there with my mum, my wife and mother in law and just my wife and I and each time I have found it consistently good.Ordering food is relatively simple with the wait staff being very nice. Getting a drink can take some time and can be a little frustrating but again the bar staff were very nice.What I find the best about it is the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed and when you mix in the nice staff and the fact that you can get plenty of convenient parking it makes for a good meal.Have no hesitation going back there when we are in Melbourne

I don't always believe advertising but in the Blackburn Hotel's case, I agree that their food is good and great value.On a Monday there were a surprising number of other diners for lunch: at least 20.My burger came with the ingredients I requested and was pleasant, while the accompanying chips were delicious.Order taker at the counter Dave was very pleasant and one other male greeted some ladies very pleasantly.The dining area was extremely clean and looked like it had been modernised within the last two to three years.Drinks were reasonably priced, especially if one has as I do a 'Monty's Rewards' card offering 10 per cent off.This is a venue that I'd recommend for Melbourne eastern suburbs residents. The 901 frequent SmartBus stops outside on its way from Melbourne Airport to Frankston, and Blackburn railway station on the busy Belgrave and Lilydale lines is less than five minutes' walk down a side street after crossing the Maroondah Highway.

Popped in for Sunday dinner, we had salmon, penne and the roast - all meals were delicious. The biggest let down was the poor staffing! Two girls were running between the meal counter, serving meals and seating customers. Most of the time the bar was not staffed, we gave up waiting for a drink and just had water. Disappointing experience despite great food.

What a disappointing dinner. Entree and main came out together even though clear instructions were given. Bourbon flavour seems to be the in thing at this establishment.Waiting for service at the bar was poor indeed. One staff member on duty with long queues.Staff were pleasant enough however being spoilt for choice in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, I won't be dining here again in a hurry.
