Pepper Tree Sandwich Shop Deli

Traveling through on an East coast to Midwest trip and found this place and stopped in for lunch. Food was great, staff was friendly and the restrooms were clean. The Red Barn sandwich was excellent! But looks like anything you get would be good. If I ever come back this way I'll stop again.

Large selection of sandwiches with your choice of homemade sides such as macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, and Watergate salad. Sandwich was very good and the bread was fresh. Nice locally owned spot.

This charming slice of Americana is all the reason you need to exit the interstate and drive into cool little Whitehall for breakfast or lunch. Don't be surprised to see a table with the sheriff talking to some local farmers or ranchers and a steady stream of locals who use this place as a social and culinary hub. Its even housed in the same building as the Montana State University extension classes. The food is delicious and and amazing value- we loved our piled-high hot sandwiches and sides. The lovely family that runs this establishment are true professionals. They had GF bread and easily accommodated my celiac wife with care and efficiency that would put a Michelin five-star to shame.
