We had heard great things about the Prime Rib, so we decided to give it a try. However, when our party of four tried it, we were all disappointed. The meat was tough and flavorless, like shoe leather. The broccoli and side dishes were good, but the main dish fell short. The bill came to over $200, and we were left feeling let down by the quality of the meal. We hope that our experience was just a fluke, and we may give it another try in the future.
Absolutely the best 20 ounce primary rib I've ever eaten!! I'm just a few weeks away from my 59. Birthday I travels all over the world I eat at Steak Houses all the time I don't exaggerate that is the best I've ever eaten and my whole life and staff is friendly people talking to you never had such a great ending experience in my whole life???????????????????????
The food was absolutely fantastic, the live music was great, and the atmosphere was friendly. This restaurant is located at a historic site where Lewis and Clark stayed during their journey to the sea. I highly recommend it.
This restaurant has been in the area for a long time and changes ownership somewhat regularly over that time. It is off the beaten track and had been an exceptional place to get steak and seafood. We would visit quite regularly and used to have great experiences with exceptional food. After a somewhat recent change of ownership the quality of food and service has gone downhill quite dramatically. Since this change, you are often rushed out, ignored for long periods of time and served poorly prepared food. This is not an inexpensive hole in the wall as it has pricing comparable to other higher end steakhouses in Southwest Montana. It is somewhat small with more of a diner ambiance so you are definitely paying for the service and food. The food is usually served at best somewhat warm and often straight up cold with the meat typically under or over cooked. The last straw was for Father's Day. We know it can be busy on holidays, so called a couple days prior to ensure the hours and best plan for a Father's Day meal. We came when told, shortly after opening and there were few in the restaurant. Despite it not yet being busy, we were first delayed a few times, then told to come back later and finally once it got busy were flat out told they were too busy for us. We were confused since we planned ahead and asked to speak with the manager to try and clear things up. The manager refused to talk with us and instead stayed in the back relaying comments through a server. If we just showed up and hoped to get in it would be one thing, but we called ahead, did what was asked and after multiple delays were just turned away. Long story short, don't give older reviews any credence as they were for a different restaurant and experience. La Hood has gone downhill and is not worth the money for mediocre food and being treated like they are too busy for their customers.
I knew going in I wasn't going to finish this bad boy but it was my birthday and this is what I wanted! Food was amazing! Small town atmosphere! Friendly staff! Will definitely be back!
