Violet Mae's Bakery - Whitecourt

We were in search of a spot to grab a fast lunch when we stumbled upon Violet Mae's Bakery. Upon entering, we noticed a white board displaying various menu items like sandwiches, soup, and one type of breakfast sandwich. I opted for the breakfast sandwich with ham while my wife chose a BLT. I also ordered a coffee. While waiting for our order, we browsed the selection of frozen meals to take home, basic groceries like eggs, and an array of breads, buns, and pastries typical of a bakery. Our orders were ready in no time, but with no seating available, we took our food to go. This was not an issue for me, as I could enjoy my meal in the car. My wife raved about her BLT, while my breakfast sandwich was filling and delicious, yet not messy to eat on the go. Unfortunately, the coffee did not meet my expectations, tasting similar to what I can make at home. This is an area where Violet Mae's could enhance their offerings. Nevertheless, if you are passing through town and in need of a quick meal on the run or some fresh bread, this is the place for you. Conveniently located just a block from the highway near the west end of Whitecourt.

This bakery is one of Whitecourt's gems. The staff is friendly and the treats are to die for. They have great sandwiches and soup for lunch. They also do good old-fashioned Newfoundland cold plates periodically.

A very nice little bakery and so much more! Amazing breakfast sandwiches (homemade and fresh), delicious soup and fresh sandwiches for lunch!

We heard about this bakery from our sons, who frequently pick up breakfast or lunch here. They are correct, this is the most awesome place. The breakfast sandwich, the clubhouse, the cookies, the breads, I could go on. Impressive with the fresh , real ingredients. No deli turkey in the clubhouse. You could get addicted.

The food might be great but this place is listed as a place to eat. There are no washrooms or tables. Just a total take out. Not for travellers if you are stopping for a meal.
