Hastings Tea Coffee - White Plains

The prices are a bit high—a latte, banana, and muffin set me back over $14, and they don’t provide receipts… such a modern touch. I was surprised they accepted cash. The food isn’t prepared on-site, but the latte was good; I’m not sure about the exact cost, but I can imagine it’s comparable to Starbucks prices. I’ll definitely remember this place as a great date option. You could meet here and then head somewhere else for dinner or a fun activity. Tea and wine? Count me in!

The coffee is decent, but not exceptional. I don’t understand why they always put milk or cream in it for you. What really bothered me, though, was that they refused to give me change for a dollar so I could feed the parking meter (yes, I still prefer feeding the meter rather than using an app). Even as a paying customer, they wouldn’t give me four quarters for a dollar. I could see their point if I was just some random person off the street asking for change, but I’m a regular customer, and all I needed was some help to park legally this time. To make matters worse, the young manager on duty was rude, arrogant, and acted as if he owned the place. When I asked for contact information for the owners to share my concerns, he insisted that they were fully aware of this issue and that it was impossible to reach them. Hopefully, the owners will read these public reviews and understand that I’ll be taking my business to the café at Barnes and Noble across the street, where the coffee is excellent and they gladly give change upon request.

I really enjoyed their matcha latte; it was excellent and served at just the right temperature. The only downside is the parking situation.

I walked in the cafe and I couldn’t find a seat. So I stepped out and said ‘it’s full’ to the staff behind the counter. The blonde bleached hair woman behind the counter rolled her eyes at me. Such an arrogant employee you have there. This will be my last time going to this cafe. I would rather go to a cafe that has a nice, safe and friendly environment.

This is not good coffee. I ordered a cappuccino and it is just a big cup of hot milk and espresso. There is no foam whatsoever and wayy too much milk for a cappuccino- you can’t even taste the coffee at all. It’s also almost boiling hot? I don’t know what’s going on back there with the baristas, but this is not how you make a cappuccino.
