When booking I was brought through the Choice Hotels booking platform who owns Cambria. I wanted a room for 2 nights. The gentleman was very dodgy from the start and wanted to sign me up for Choice Rewards. I was clear that I wanted a room and not to sign up for rewards. He started asking for personal information. Again I stated I only wanted a room. He said he was booking my room at which point I thought he was actually doing that. He asked for all my personal information including reason for staying. Then he said he had a room would I like it. I said great, but was starting to feel like he was just getting paid commission for signing people up for Choice Rewards or something. Very dodgy. I was nervous and said for 2 nights and he said we have a room for Friday night. I said I need both nights and he finally said they are booked. It was super slimy, super shady, super tricky and unprofessional. This hotel should distance themselves from Choice. I feel violated and have already visited a few complaint websites. Such a horrible experience. Wasted my time, stole my information under false pretense. Very angry.
Bug crawling on my pillows. Asked for the bedding to be changed. Everything was I can 't this I cant that. Just acting incapable. Then couldnt even do the courtesy of bring the bedding up. She wanted me to come down to get the and change them myself. Then claims she didn 't even have enough pillows.
Checked in yesterday and had spoken with multiple people about parking. Was told that I would handle the balance in the am when I left after I had already parked my car and tried offering my payment upfront. The front desk lady thought it would be appropriate to call my room while it was still within 5am the following day. I have another 5 hours and 30 minutes before my flight and I 'm one of those people who can 't go back to sleep once they have been woken up. I 'm also on california time so the time that she did deem it important to call me about a 20$ balance was around 3am my time. I called back and spoke with a gentleman and complained to him about it and found it only right to clear up my 20 dollar balance shortly after the call just to find out they would waive the 20$ parking fee. Mind you I didn 't get to my room until around 12-1am so if I could rate this experience I 'd give it 0 stars. The mindfulness of a specific staff member needs improvement. There is a gentleman who worked the graveyard shift who was absolutely awesome. But the woman who called my room this am. Not cool. Ty for ruining my day.
Nice hotel. Parking very expensive and valet only. In downtown white plains really don't need a car.Walkability: Easy access to lots of restaurants, shops, grocery Stores, and entertainment
