When I have a craving for shrimp tempura or sweet potato tempura, this is the place I go! So good. They have lots of different kinds of maki and sashimi. Small place. Easy to miss. Worth trying if you like Japanese.
We were a family of 18, with reservations. With a restaurant, one would think they would anticipate and large order of food. We were sorely disappointed. My brother finished his meal, before his wife received hers. We were there for an hour and half before any food was brought. "All you can eat buffet" was a joke. Not a good experience, cannot recommend at all!
We walked in and were greeted by a young lady with a definite chip on her shoulder. As we were seated we had 4 people that night(2 couples) and she gave us 3 menus instead of 4 which was ok we chalked it up as a simple mistake. We then realized the menu was not an all you can eat menu which is what we wanted so we asked if we could have the all you can eat menu politely. The waitress said sure with attitude and took them away. After we got the new menu's and placed out order the wait times were terrible and no one seemed to care or check up on our table. They brought us a very limited amount of sushi after waiting 40 minutes and then nothing after waiting another 20 minutes. They also never refilled our drinks at any point in time. I decided I would go up to them and ask politely if they could charge us for what we consumed already and we were going to leave. That is when I found our waitress was assisting the main chef at assembling sushi. What a disaster! The main chef then started accusing me that she had made everything already...just horrible! I said to her we will pay the regular price for all you can eat and we left and we will absolutely never ever return!
Visited Shogun at the recommendation of a friend. Usually, we go to snoe nearby sushi restaurant to get our all you can eat fix so it is difficult not to compare the two (which may not be entirely fair to Shogun). Overall, the sushi was very good. The choices were a little more broad than what we have become accustomed to at other All You Can Eat places. The chef and wait staff were incredibly attentive and the venue is intimidate, far and away improved over the experience in most other All You Can Eat places. The portions were acceptable, although not as generous as I have grown accustomed to. The fish was of high quality and there are a couple of unique roll types on the menu. I found the rice to be out of proportion on the sushi dishes (i.e Too much rice and not enough fish) and it was much sweeter than I like.Overall, the experience was pleasant And I do recommend Shogun for a more cozy dining experience than the larger sushi venues offer in the area.
